Blaine & Julia,

We recently purchased a “Like New” 1995 Ford from Lakeside Auto and just wanted to write a short note to tell you how pleased we are with our purchase.  We were treated royally and professionally by both Blaine & Julia.  The friendly atmosphere at Lakeside made us feel right at home and there was never any kind of pressure to purchase involved.  We can attest that they honour their warrantee;  because when a minor problem showed up they immediately had it repaired at no cost to us.

Every one we show the car to cannot believe that it is fifteen years old.  It is immaculate inside and out and runs like a charm.

Just tell Blaine or Julia what you are looking for and they shall deliver. You would never know the car we bought was a used vehicle, it was so clean inside and out. I wanted to pick it up a day earlier than I originally told Julia but she said I would have to wait because it wasn't "Blaine clean" so it couldn't leave the lot yet.  It was definitely worth the wait. Thank you so much for finding me my car I love it (as does my daughter). Dear Blaine & Julia,

Firstly, thank you for your warm hospitality and laidback nature as my brother and I spent close to an entire day test driving and scrutinizing your fantastic selection of vehicles.

To be honest, I was quite hesitant about making a 2 hour trek all the way to Bobcaygeon to visit a "used car lot." You see, being from the city, I've had nothing but negative experiences with these so-called "reputable" used car dealerships, so much so that I've sworn them off altogether.

But after Julia's prompt response to my initial email and follow-up phone call, a drive to the Kawarthas in the dead of winter somehow seemed right.

We  were pleasantly surprised by the easy going, no-pressure approach at Lakeside. I was even more impressed that Julia took some time out on her day off with her kids to come and meet my brother and I -- just to "make sure" that Blaine was treating us right -- I'm kidding, Blaine was more than accommodating. But the fact that Julia made a point to come see us speaks volumes. 

What was equally impressive is the roster of vehicles available for sale. Blaine was up front about each and every one of them, even pointed out the imperfections that would often go unmentioned by a sly salesperson. 

When all was said and done, we picked up the vehicle we originally came for.  The deal was closed with a firm handshake and a promise that if we ran into any problems or unhappy for whatever reason, that we could just call.

Oddly enough, a couple of days after having the vehicle, something seemed a bit off.  But after a quick call to Blaine, without hesitation, he was true to his word and offered to make things right. He completely took care of the problem and went to great lengths to ensure that I went home happy.

I am now very satisfied with my vehicle and proudly tell anyone that asks that I purchased it at Lakeside Auto Sales – the best kept secret 2 hours outside of Toronto. 

I highly encourage anyone who is looking for a quality vehicle at a fair price, to visit Blaine & Julia.  If it weren't for the sign out front or the shiny cars in the lot, you'd have a hard time guessing that these two are sales people.  They are the nicest folks you'd meet and the way they treat you with honesty, respect and how they stand behind the vehicles they sell is refreshing.

If anything, both of them are fantastic ambassadors of Bobcaygeon.

Visit Lakeside Auto if you get the chance, not because of the great vehicles, but because a handshake and a promise still mean something there.

I informed Blaine of what kind of vehicle that I was looking for.  He found exactly what I wanted within 2 weeks.  The auto detailing that Blaine did was awesome.  The price was good too.  I knew that I could trust him.  It is the first time that I bought a car without test driving it.  There was a minor problem with one of the windows.  I called Blaine and he said to bring it in that same day.  He fixed it.  I am happy with the purchase and service at Lakeside Auto Sales.  I would recommend Lakeside Auto Sales to a friend.

Hi Blaine and Julia,

Did you ever expect someone say you were the literal answer to their prayer? Back in February 2009 God told me to pick a day that He was going to bless me. I wrote July 1, 2009 on my calendar and a friend confirmed that day also.

Our lives became so busy that it was necessary for us to get ourselves another vehicle. We planned on getting a little pick-up truck for Paul and I would drive his car (which I didn’t really want to do). Paul put out the calls and started looking. When nothing seemed available in our price range, we decided to get a van for me instead.

Normally, my criteria for a car is one that is small that gets me from point “A” to point “B” safely, and that it be made no earlier that 1990 because I wanted “daylighter” headlights, and it could not be green, or a Ford. However, this time I stepped out in faith and prayed that God would find the perfect car for me. I also asked for “bells and whistles” for a change.

As soon as that decision was finalized Paul got on the phone and started to call around, and the first place he called was Lakeside Auto Sales. Paul spoke to Blaine and told him we wanted a van. Immediately, Blaine asked if we would be interested in a Dodge Caravan he had just received. Paul discussed price, and I asked the pertinent questions: year, colour and did it have “bells and whistles”? Answer: 2002, burgundy, fully loaded with a driver side sliding door.

Paul went to look it over, and as an afterthought I added to my prayer that it would be perfect if it had an integrated baby car seat. My husband returned home and told me the van was everything Blaine said and to top it off it had a built-in baby car seat! I knew at that moment this was the vehicle God had picked out for me.  Proverbs 3:6 says, “Acknowledge Him in all ways and He will direct your path.” I did and He led me to you. Remember what day God told me I was going to be blessed? I drove the van home on July 1, 2009. God answers prayers!

We have had the van for about a month and a half now, and this van could not have come at a better time. With a leg injury, and babysitting daily for a friend the van is the only vehicle my daughter can drive right now.

Thank you Blaine and Julia we are enjoying my van to the fullest!  According to everyone I’ve shown my van to, we got a beautiful looking vehicle with a fabulous warranty for a great price. I would not hesitate to purchase a car from you in the future.

I would just like to mention the excellent service I received at Lakeside Auto Sales. Blaine was very honest and followed through by doing what he said he would do when I purchased the 93 Safari last month. Im very pleased with the van. From the first email to the final pickup of the van, Blaine made the purchasing process very easy, I was particularly impressed with cleanliness of the whole facility, I could tell from the moment I first pulled in to Lakeside that the owner of this establishment has a passion for what he does and must be honest, especially in a small community out on a country road....something major dealerships could take a lesson from!!

Hi Blaine and Julia,
 
Thank-you so much for the Tim Horton's gift card. I'm sorry it has taken us so long to respond to you, but we have had an interesting few weeks. On April 3rd I took Kenn to the ER because of severe abdominal pain. By evening he had been diagnosed with acute pancreatitis and he spent the next seven days in the hospital hooked up to morphine IV. The cause was finally found to be tiny gallstones lodged in his bile duct and a gallbladder filled with "sludge". He came home on Good Friday and I "healthied him up" for a week. On Monday, April 20th, he had surgery to remove his gallbladder. Of course nothing ever goes quite as planned, and during the surgery a small hernia was discovered and repaired. So day surgery became an overnight stay and I brought him home yesterday. He is moving slowly and hopefully will be completely recovered soon.

He has not had time to drive the truck much......I think he has only put on about 150 km since we brought it home.....but he is looking forward to using it more. He took it in to a "carsmatics" guy who took out all the small imperfections...so it looks great.....and he loves the "white walls"......that seems to be his trade mark, which receives many comments from family and friends!

Have you finished your amazing new office yet? It was looking pretty fantastic when I saw it last, still in the construction stages.
 
I just had to pop in to thank you for my "New To Me" vehicle!
 
Truth be told, I have spent my life being attracted to what I refer to as, "Convenience Shopping." I have often said too that this could contribute to my never having any money, as convenience can be costly.
 
Not so in the case of purchasing my vehicle from you!

I was in a position where I had to replace my old vehicle, and fast. I had two babies and no way of getting up to see you. My friend, and resident of Bobcaygeon, Anne, had suggested that I shop with you. I knew you had something of interest to me after having checked out your great Web Site.
 
You actually brought the car down to me to test drive! How great a service is that? And then, you heard my concerns, and understood what else I needed on that said vehicle, and presto, it was done. Within just a mere couple of days, the car was mine! Just a couple of days! And you two did all the leg work, all of it!
 
Wow! How happy was I?

Can't thank you enough for the most pleasant truck-trading and car buying experience I could imagine.  When I first dropped in to have the truck detailed, and looked at the cars, I told you I didn't have a clue what I was looking for. 
Then I proceeded to feed you a list of what I wanted and didn't want, as long as your arm. 
 
You threw a few options at me, nothing concrete, then, in short order, came up with a car that had absolutely everything
I had specified on my wish list, and then some.  I am absolutely delighted with my Forrester, and it is spotless.
 
The diplomacy of both of you was amazing.  You contacted me about possiblitlies, but quickly, and I would then google them at my convenience.  It was perfect, enough to let me know you were working on it for me, but not so much that it was any kind of committment of time for me.  This courtesy was very much appreciated.  And you never contacted me with an unsuitable vehicle - they met with all my criteria.  But you wanted to find, and found, the perfect car for me.

If you are in the market for a well maintained, reasonably priced,
late model used vehicle - we'd like to recommend that you talk to
Blaine and Julia first - it will make your search that much more enjoyable.

We started out our search to replace an aging van by looking at new
cars. The dealers attract you in with low advertised base rates, but
by the time you get what you actually are looking for, and add in all
the fees and taxes - you may as well double the original list
price. So we shifted our focus to used cars. We picked up a copy of
the Kawartha Buyer's Guide (www.kbgauto.ca) and quickly zoomed into
Lakeside's page. Lots of choices.

We arranged a test drive - Blaine stayed after hours for us to arrive
from Peterborough. The car we had chosen was a real jem. Clean, no
rust - just what we were looking for. Given that we were from out of
town, the rest of the deal was conducted over the phone, email and
the Fax machine. We arranged a pick up late on a Friday afternoon,
and everything was ready to go!

As an added bonus, Blaine fixed a leaky tire on our old van - free of
charge - so that we could travel home safely. That's what I call service!

I commented to Blaine one day that we have wanted a used Santa Fe with low mileage plus all the bells and whistles
for a number of years, to no avail.  To our amazement he came up with one, exactly like we had hoped for . . . low mileage, perfect condition, still under warranty and fully loaded. He certainly goes the extra mile to make sure he fulfills your wish list. When we arrived to pick it up Blaine had all the paperwork ready plus he even got the plate sticker for us – all we had to do was drive it off the lot like proud owners. Between Blain and Julia it is a pleasure to do business with them – friendly and personal with your best interests at heart, yet still professional in a relaxed manner. My experience with Lakeside Auto Sales last September has been extremely painless! As I pass the dealership
generally before Blaine gets in, and after he leaves in the evening I did my stop and snoop in the “off hours”.
However, I had seen a nice looking vehicle – 2003 Buick Rendezvous – on the lot for the better part of 10 days
and decided one Saturday to phone and enquire further about it. Blaine suggested I drop by to visit which I did,
along with Mitch who understands more than colour and shape. Blaine was most courteous and helpful suggesting we might like to take a test drive. Upon our return the decision had been made – I had to buy it! (my other car was used
as a trade in and I think re-sold by Blaine). At that point another party had arrived with the idea of trying it out,
and I felt badly. However, I understand Blaine offered to look around for another similar vehicle for them and they too were satisfied.

Two days later I was the proud owner of a shiny “new to me” vehicle – really I could have eaten dinner off the motor, what a wonderful experience every bit as good as any new car dealership I have dealt with in the past.

Julia too has been the soul of tact with a couple of silly issues I had – I should have looked the answers up in the book!

When my partner and I started shopping for a used car, we really wanted to make sure we bought locally. After visiting several local used car lots we were shocked at the poor quality of cars (dirty) and lack of professionalism that we encountered. It started with a call on Blaine just to get the lay of the land
relative to my desire to purchase a pick up truck in good condition and
with low mileage. He asked me about what I had in mind and said he would
look around and see what he could find. Well two days later in the
morning he called to say he had found one I might like and gave me the
info on model, mileage, condition and price. We agreed to move on this
one and he brought it home that day. It was just what I had hoped I was
looking for and the price was right. On top of that he is helping  me to
get a customer for my old vehicle. Blaine you can put me on your list of

Some time ago we realized that the time had come to replace our old vehicle.

We were not going to be purchasing a brand new vehicle so now to look for a used one and we did not know what we wanted. Our old faithful was a van but we wondered if we needed that size anymore. We had noticed the new business called Lakeside Auto Sales and decided to go in for a visit and check things out. We met Blaine Percy and told him that we were going to be looking for a newer model but didn?t know just what to look for.

His suggestion was to get out and drive as many cars/vans as we could and try to get an idea of what we wanted. We found that we liked the style of the Buick Rendezvous. Blaine said that he would look for us and asked us many questions as to what features we wanted but that it might take time to come up with just the right vehicle. It did. There were weeks where we thought he had forgotten us but he didn?t. He came up with one that was in good condition, clean and we being non-smokers did not want one that we could smell smoke and it fell into the price range we had set for the vehicle.

The before sale service and the after sale service was wonderful. We had a few minor problems which Blaine looked after immediately and we have been so very happy with our vehicle and with our association with Blaine and Julia. We wish them well in their new endeavor.
